Global pioneer in sustainable chemicals, Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, is pleased to announce its participation in the T-REX (Textile Recycling Excellence) Project. The objective of this ambitious endeavor is to assist the fashion sector in transitioning to a sustainable and circular future by developing a single EU plan for the closed-loop sorting and recycling of home textile waste.

Indorama Ventures, the assigned spinning partner, will use chemical recycling feedstock to create polyester yarns and fibers via extrusion, making sure that all impurities are eliminated. This involvement demonstrates the company’s dedication to sustainability and is in line with its objectives of supporting the circular economy and the circular fashion sector through PET recycling and the provision of recycled materials.

“Indorama Ventures has decades of experience in manmade- fiber processes, especially in polyester,” said Mr. Diego Boeri, Executive President of the company’s Fibers division. In order to support our partners in reaching their sustainability objectives, we are dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions and utilizing circular feedstock throughout the value chain. We are eager to use our technological know-how to further the T-REX Project’s textile-to-textile recycling endeavors.

Creating a unified blueprint to facilitate a circular system for post-consumer textile waste in Europe is the goal of the T-REX Project. The EU-funded project aims to convert waste end-of-use textiles into commodities and valuable feedstock for new, scalable business models. It brings together a coalition of 13 significant firms from the whole value chain and research institutes.
