Indian researchers created a wastewater treatment solution

The “much improved” AOP technology aimed at zero discharge water management is being used for the total reuse of industrial dye effluent for home and industrial purposes.
Indian scientists have devised a “enhanced” wastewater treatment system that can totally reuse dye effluent from the textile industry, removing its toxicity and making it appropriate for home and industrial use.
It lowers water treatment costs and makes water reuse easier in dry areas.
The present three-stage wastewater treatment procedure, which includes primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment, is incapable of treating toxic waste.
The stand-alone Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) treatment technique for colour and odour properties in industrial effluents may be insufficient to meet set government standards. Synthetic industrial dyes have a long-lasting carcinogenic and toxic effect on the ecological and especially aquatic life. AOP technology has resulted in the recuperation of 50 per cent of the treatment cost incurred from conventional processes. It eliminates the need for the conventional primary, secondary, and tertiary processes and meets the inland water discharge standards.
