ANational Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Campus is operational at Hyderabad, which is joint Capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Asper policy for establishment of a new campus of NIFT,the State Government is required to submit a proposal alongwith following commitments:
20-30 acres of land;
Rs.150-200 cr. for construction of campus at the price rates of CPWD for 2011-12;
Rs.30 cr. for provision of equipments, machines and furniture at the price rates of 2011-12;
Annual revenue grants to adjust deficit revenue, till the campus becomes financially viable.
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh has so far not submitted a complete proposal along with requisite commitments,in accordance with the policy guidelines, for setting up of a NIFT campus in their proposed new capital.
This information was given by the Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
