After establishing a successful presence in the packaging industry for over four decades, the Manjushree Group has set its sights on conquering the Indian nonwoven market with great ambition. To meet the diverse needs of their customers, the group has invested in a flexible RF Smart Composite line from Reifenhäuser Reicofil. While the Manjushree Group may be new to the nonwoven industry, the company’s founder, Vimal Kedia, has extensive experience in the packaging industry since 1983.

In 2018, the Manjushree Group repositioned itself by selling its core business and establishing Manjushree Ventures, with several business segments including manufacturing, real estate, and start-up financing. Recognizing the significant growth potential in the disposable medical products and hygiene items market, the group founded Manjushree Spntek as a producer of high-quality spunelted fabrics.

The challenge for the Manjushree Group lies in the fragmented and small-scale nonwovens market in India, with thousands of small companies catering to regional customers such as hospitals. These customers have specific requirements for spun melted nonwovens, including different specifications for colours, properties, and basis weights. Customers also have high expectations for better web uniformity, increased softness, lighter-weight fabrics, and cost-efficiency.

To address these challenges, the Manjushree Group opted for the RF Smart Composite line from Reifenhäuser Reicofil. This standardized spun melt line is ideally suited for smaller and emerging markets, producing high-quality nonwovens with adapted throughput. With its flexibility, quick changeovers, low running speed, minimal wastages, and optimal power consumption, the RF Smart line offers competitive pricing and meets the demanding requirements of the Indian nonwovens market.

Manjushree Spntek embarked on its spunmelt production journey by constructing a sustainable production building in Bidadi, near Bangalore International Airport. This environmentally friendly facility utilizes natural light, fresh air, and renewable energy sources. With the help of Reifenhäuser Reicofil’s experts, the RF Smart Composite line was successfully installed, commissioned, and tested to achieve the best production results with minimal downtime.

Since February 2023, Manjushree Spntek has been producing high-quality spunmelted nonwovens for the hygiene and medical industries. These nonwovens are used in various applications, such as baby diapers, feminine hygiene products, surgical gowns, and surgical drapes. The company is also focused on collaborating with customers on development projects to further enhance their product offerings.

Driven by their commitment to customer satisfaction, consistent quality, and innovative R&D, the Manjushree Group aspires to become a market leader in the nonwoven industry. While they may be new to nonwoven production, their expertise in understanding customer needs and delivering to their delight positions them well for achieving this ambitious goal. With their state-of-the-art RF Smart Composite line and the support of Reifenhäuser Reicofil, the Manjushree Group is poised for success in the Indian nonwovens market.
