According to official figures, China’s textile sector grew rapidly in the first six months, with both sales and earnings increasing by double digits.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the earnings of textile businesses with annual operating income of at least 20 million yuan (approximately 3.1 million US dollars) hit 107.9 billion yuan in the first half, up 41.1 percent year on year (MIIT).
These companies’ operational revenue totalled 2.34 trillion yuan, a 20.3 percent increase over the same time last year.
According to MIIT data, China’s garment exports totaled 71.5 billion US dollars over the time, a 40.3 percent rise year on year.
