Starting this month, Westborough residents are able to schedule a home pickup of clothing and household textiles.

The Health Department has partnered with HELPSY, which is a New York-based textile collection company that works with organizations and municipalities across 10 states, like Westborough.

According to HELPSY’s website, 95% of their collections are reused, upcycled or recycled. The company estimates that it has helped divert almost 30 million pounds of textiles from landfills last year through homAe pickups, clothing drives, thrift store partnerships and clothing receptacles.

Some of the items that HELPSY will accept include clothing and accessories — like shirts, pants, gloves, belts, ties and purses — and household items such as towels, bedding and throw rugs.
