US home furnishing sales have reached US $ 65.30 billion in 2021, as per the latest data released by US Census Bureau.
The sales have noted 26 per cent surge over 2020, while it upped by 15.78 per cent as compared to 2019. November was the best month for US-based home furnishing retail brands when revenues reached US $ 6.50 billion – the most in the last 36 months!
As far as December is concerned, sales declined on M-o-M basis yet it remained at par compared to December ’20 and December ’19 to clock US $ 5.90 billion.
Despite monthly fluctuation, December ’21 proved to be the second best month for home furnishing retailers, in terms of overall revenues, in the last 36 months.
The growth can be attributed to certain factors such as rising health awareness of the consumers as various home textile products (bed linen and pillows) tend to spread virus transmission at a quick rate. This is why US consumers decided to spend money in more quantities of these products in their homes to avoid any sort of infection.
According to various projections, USA – the world’s largest home furnishing market – is expected to grow at a CAGR range of 5-7 per cent during 2021-2026 in the segment.
