Hexcel has successfully transitioned to producing winter sports using its new line of bio-derived HexPly Nature products, including the conversion of HexPly M78.1-LT prepregs to this more environmentally friendly variant. Hexcel has been an important supplier to the winter sports sector since the 1970s. Top companies including Elan, Fischer, Kästle, Stöckli, Tecnica Group, and Völkl have benefited from Hexcel’s variety of products, which include Modipur polyurethanes, Polyspeed laminates, and HexPly prepregs.

After working closely with customers for several years to guarantee that these bio-derived prepregs fulfilled stringent OEM qualification and production standards without sacrificing performance, Hexcel finally produced the HexPly Nature Range. The enhanced prepregs provide fast curing, strong handling, and superior adhesion to materials such as wood, thermoplastics, and aluminum while maintaining the same high quality and consistency as their predecessors.

Leading ski producer Tecnica Group commended Hexcel for integrating the HexPly Nature line so well into its manufacturing process. The successful transition and environmental advantages of the new products were emphasized by Alberto Zanatta, Chairman of Tecnica Group, who also pointed out that Hexcel’s dedication to sustainability has not had an impact on the performance or consistency of their skis.

Hexcel’s new line of skis upholds the superior performance qualities expected of premium composite skis, extending their reputation as a reliable partner in the winter sports sector.
