Hermes is set to open its twenty-fifth leather goods workshop in France in 2026, employing 260 artisans trained in the brand’s expertise. It will be the company’s second production site in Gironde.

The Gironde hub will allow artisans to pass on saddlery and leather goods skills within the Ecole Hermes des savoir-faire, an apprentice training center accredited by the French ministry of education. Hermes artisan trainers will teach leatherworking techniques and award vocational qualifications in the field. To meet recruitment needs, Hermes is partnering with local organizations such as France Travail Nouvelle Aquitaine and the GRETA-CFA Aquitaine adult education service. The next training intake is set to begin in October 2024 at the Charles Péguy high school in Eysines.

Hermes is expanding its presence in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region with new leather goods workshops, including Maroquinerie de Loupes opening in 2025. The luxury brand is creating high-quality jobs and supporting regional development in France. The new site was established in collaboration with local authorities, showcasing Hermes’ commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. The house has a long history in the region, with existing workshops in Haute-Vienne, Dordogne, Charente, and Gironde.
