Heimtextil Colombia’s inaugural edition saw 4,500 visitors, including 1,200 buyers and 118 exhibitors. The event is expected to lead to business opportunities in the near future. The tradeshow, licensed by Messe Frankfurt, showcased the potential in home textiles, interior design, and hospitality in Colombia and the region.

Heimtextil Colombia brought together key players in the textile and interior design sectors in Colombia with leading companies from Latin America, Europe, and Asia. The event showcased unique value offerings and the ability to compete in a global market worth 1.2 billion dollars.

Heimtextil Colombia has made its debut in Latin America, showcasing a blend of Colombian brands and production capabilities from various markets. The event has solidified Colombia as a key player in the fashion ecosystem, offering value to the industry on a global scale. Inexmoda, the organizer, aims to enhance the competitiveness of Colombian companies and establish Medellin as a premier destination for trade shows in business, design, and culture. The event has generated significant economic benefits for the city, with exhibitors, buyers, and industry professionals contributing to over $2,000 million in economic activity during the three-day event.

During Heimtextil Colombia, 118 exhibitors showcased their proposals for home textiles, furniture, and decoration products, with 60% being international and 40% national. The focus was on innovation, sustainability, and a connection with nature in all the showcased items. Countries like Argentina, Brazil, China, and Spain were prominently featured, alongside Colombian brands from various cities. The event also served as a platform for cultural exchange, networking, and knowledge sharing among 1,200 buyers from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. The organizers highlighted the national industry’s potential for global competitiveness, thanks to its unique DNA, biodiversity, and the quality of materials and creativity. Inexmoda, the institute behind Heimtextil Colombia, emphasized the creativity and signature design of Colombian brands, showcasing them in spaces like ‘Creative Colombia’ and ‘Kitchen by Heimtextil’. These spaces featured designs from 10 Colombian brands, representing various rooms in a house and demonstrating the fusion of cooking experiences with home textiles and culture.

In a bid to internationalize brands and companies in the national industry, Inexmoda organized the “Knowledge Set” and “Trends Forum” at Heimtextil Colombia. The former featured discussions on hospitality, the environment, sustainable business models, and consumer products, while the latter showcased three trends for 2024/2025 inspired by nature, technology, and biotechnology. This initiative aims to highlight the Colombian stamp and DNA in new categories.
