The most disputed decision of Haryana Government to reserve 75 per cent employment opportunities in private sector for people belonging to the state will come into force from 1 May.
Despite the best efforts of apparel industry to get the exemption from this law, the decision is going to be implemented now and the industry is in panic due to the same.
Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of the state shared this and said that in case of any new employment opportunity, whether in a new industry or an operational one, out of every four jobs three will be for people belonging to the state.
The State Government is also well aware about the sentiments of industry as Dushyant Chautala said, “Any law is not perfect from day one. The Government will also consider suggestions for amendments in this law. Before bringing this law, we had an 8-stage meeting with the industry representatives and entrepreneurs. Written suggestions were also sought from entrepreneurs.”
Apparel industry of the state is strongly of the opinion that due to this ‘stringent and illogical’ decision of the State Government, there shall be no expansion by the industry in the state – and in the long run, existing units of the state can also shift to Noida.
The state doesn’t have enough local skilled workers as well as mid-level professionals for the apparel manufacturing industry, and so the apparel industry is largely dependent on migratory workforce.
