In a significant development for the textile industry in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has given its final approval to the public works department’s proposal to improve connectivity to the PM Mitra Textile Park. A spur route will be added to the outer ring road, ensuring better accessibility to the mega textile and garments sector-oriented project.

The project, estimated to cost approximately Rs 140 crore, is expected to commence soon. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who reviewed the PWD’s working plan for improving access to the textile park and provided valuable feedback.

To attract investors to the park, the government will construct the spur route to connect the Lucknow, Sitapur, and Hardoi national highways. This strategic move will enhance logistics and transportation of raw materials and finished goods, making the park more attractive to businesses.

The widening of the Lucknow-Hardoi road to a four-lane carriageway is nearing completion. The extended route will connect the Raitha underpass in Chatha Meel to Atari village in Malihabad, where the textile park is being established.

The government spokesperson highlighted that the park, developed through a public-private partnership model, is expected to create over 1 lakh jobs. Improved connectivity to Sitapur road and other national highways will play a crucial role in supporting the park’s operations and growth.

The upcoming textile park will be strategically located, with Malihabad railway station just 16 km away. Charbagh railway station is situated 40 km away, while Lucknow airport is 45 km distant. Additionally, the Kanpur node of the dedicated freight corridor and the inland container depot in Kanpur will be 95 km and 111 km away, respectively, providing convenient access to transportation and logistics facilities.

This significant investment in infrastructure will further strengthen Lucknow’s position as a textile hub and contribute to the state’s economic development.
