Ganesha Ecopet, a division of Ganesha Ecosphere and a pioneer in PET recycling in India, has increased its yearly capacity for bottle-to-bottle recycling to 42,000 tons. The company increased its production of recycled PET (rPET) with two new Starlinger Recostar PET 165 HC iV+ lines, with the goal of recycling 25% of India’s PET waste by 2026.

Mandates from the government and changing customer tastes are the main drivers of the need for food-safe rPET in India. PET flakesProducers are required by the 2022 Plastic Waste Management Rules to incorporate 30% recycled content in PET bottles by 2025, with the requirement rising to 60% by 2029. Young Indian customers are also becoming more concerned about sustainability, which makes rPET a desirable choice because of its minimal carbon footprint and capacity for recycling.

Ganesha Ecosphere is able to produce high-quality rPET to support worldwide markets in Europe, the United States, and India with their experience and dedication to cutting-edge technology. By utilizing more renewable energy sources and recycling 95% of their process water, their operations are centered on sustainability.

Ganesha Ecopet sources PET bottles from more than 300 vendors around India and operates within the nation’s incredibly effective waste management infrastructure. Better waste management techniques are encouraged by the Indian government, which also supports companies that innovate in recycling and collection.

Ganesha Ecosphere, which has over 30 years of experience, is still at the forefront of PET recycling, processing 9.4 billion bottles a year and exporting all over the world.
