The Fischer Group of Companies was thrilled to receive the GEO Award (Global Excellence in Operations) category for its production unit in Ivanovice na Hane, Czech Republic, in the 33rd production benchmark competition. The award acknowledges the site’s exceptional operational excellence across the whole value chain, just in time for its 30th anniversary. For the German and European manufacturing sectors, the award is regarded as the most prestigious and rigorous competition.
“The award is the highlight of our 30-year history in Ivanovice na Hane,” says Prof Klaus Fischer, owner of the fischer group of companies. “The Factory of the Year is like the Champions League for manufacturing companies. We can be very proud of this honour.’”Above all, however, it is a special honour for all employees at the Czech site. ‘Our Managing Director in the Czech Republic, Mr Vladimir Hudec, and his team have done an outstanding job over the past few years. Receiving the award is impressive confirmation of this.’ Prof Fischer continues, “Our plant in Ivanovice na Hane also serves as a role model and benchmark for all of our company’s other production sites.”
The ‘GEO Award’ stands for ‘Global Excellence in Operations’ This is among the most coveted honors for businesses in Europe. The award honors exceptionally high levels of value development and exceptional operational performance across the whole value chain. The management consulting firm Kearney, in collaboration with the trade publication Produktion and Suddeutscher Verlag Veranstaltungen GmbH, recognizes facilities that successfully navigate today’s production issues in six categories each year.
Vladimír Hudec, Managing Director of fischer Vyskov spol. s r.o., and hence of the Ivanovice na Hane production facility, highlights: “We are thrilled to have received in the “GEO Award” category. Our diligent efforts throughout the years have paid off. And by “our work,” I mean the collaborative efforts of all of our coworkers in Tumlingen and Ivanovice na Hane. Maximilian Bronner, Managing Director of Production and Technology at the Group, concurs, “In recent years, the site in Ivanovice na Hane has developed extremely well.” The Czech team’s exceptional team performance and our fischer Process System, which was executed flawlessly in Ivanovice na Hané, are the main factors in this success from one perspective. We view this accomplishment as evidence that our production plan has been successfully implemented, and we will use the award as motivation to keep improving every process every day at all nine of our manufacturing facilities across the globe.
The Forum am Schlosspark in Ludwigsburg will host the 33rd “Factory of the Year” congress on March 18 and 19, 2025. The winners will formally receive their trophies on a lavish evening.
