In its 117th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, which was presided over by Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, the Odisha Government on Monday approved 11 projects with investment plans totaling Rs 2,840 crore.
11 industrial projects totaling Rs. 2840.73 crores were authorised today by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority committee, creating 3721 jobs for the people of Odisha. Nine of these ideas came from businesses who participated in the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 and demonstrated an interest in investing in the region.
The state administration is making a concerted effort to make these investment intentions a reality. Projects across a variety of industries, including textiles and clothing, tourism, renewable energy, chemicals and plastics, food processing and packaging, aluminium and aluminium downstream, steel and steel downstream, and chemicals and plastics obtained consents. The projects that have been approved will be built in many areas of the state, including the districts of Bolangir, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.
RCR Steel Works Private Limited’s application, involving an investment of Rs 896.98 crores, was authorised by the SLSWCA. About 750 individuals in the state are anticipated to benefit from the steel plant’s proposed location in Jamda, Mayurbhanj.
The committee also approved the expansion plans for Hindalco Industries Limited in Lapanga, Sambalpur, and Utkal Alumina International Ltd. in Rayagada district, which promise a combined investment of almost INR 1000 crores and are anticipated to create employment opportunities for over 500 people in and around these districts.
Additionally, the SLSWCA authorised the project proposal of With an investment of Rs 228.45 crores, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd. plans to build a resort on Somolo Island in Chilika Lake in the Ganjam District. This initiative is anticipated to improve Odisha’s standing on the Indian tourism map.The committee approved a project from Ion Exchange (India) Ltd. in the chemicals industry. Over 150 residents of Odisha would have employment prospects thanks to the company’s proposed investment of Rs 303 crores in the construction of a manufacturing facility in Paradip for 25000 MT of water treatment chemicals and 30000 MT of monomer and polymers.
Indian Stitches Private Limited is establishing a fabric processing plant in the textile and apparel sector with an investment of INR 100 crores, creating employment possibilities for more than 1000 individuals live there.
The Taj SATs Ltd. project proposal to establish food processing and packaging plants in Khordha was authorised in the area of food processing. 200 persons could be employed as a result of the project’s investment of Rs 51 Crores.
