Minister of Finance and Planning of Andhra Pradesh, Buggana Rajendranath announced on Thursday that the state government is set to establish a 36-acre textile park in Jagadurthi, Dhone. The project will involve an investment of Rs 8.58 crore and is aimed at boosting the textile industry in the region.

During his visit to Dhone, the finance minister also inspected the construction of a TTD Kalyana Mandapam with an estimated cost of Rs 3.50 crore. Rajendranath emphasized that the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will oversee the development of infrastructure at the textile park, which includes the creation of plots, roads, drainage systems, and the provision of electricity and water. He further revealed that the tenders for these works have already been finalized.

Notably, Rajendranath’s visit to the site coincided with a protest by Andhra Pradesh Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union members. To understand their concerns, the minister personally spoke with the Anganwadi workers and inquired about the problems they are currently facing.

This move by the Andhra Pradesh government aims to bolster the textile industry in Dhone and create numerous employment opportunities for the local population.
