During the Intertextile Shanghai event last month, The Lycra Company, a global leader in sustainable fibre and technology solutions in the apparel and textile industry, expanded its Lycra Adaptiv fibre portfolio and unveiled two elastane fibres: Lycra Adaptiv Black fibre and Lycra Adaptiv Xtra Life fibre.

These brand-new fibres incorporate the inherent benefits of the original Lycra Adaptiv fibre with the added advantages of two technologies, promising a superior and all-encompassing wearing experience.

According to claims, Lycra Adaptiv Black fibre is designed for durable athletic wear and activewear. According to the manufacturer, its products address the issue of fibre deterioration brought on by UV rays, sunscreen, and anti-chafing lotions, which can negatively impact a garment’s fit, usefulness, and lifetime.

With the use of this cutting-edge technology, clothing companies and brands can produce apparel that fits people of all sizes and provides a second-skin fit.

The Lycra Company plans to start the “Waste for Good” campaign in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2023 in an effort to further promote sustainability. Through the employment of recycled-material-based Coolmax EcoMade and Thermolite EcoMade technologies, this initiative seeks to promote circularity in the garment and textile sector.
