The “19th Dhaka International Yarn And Fabric Exhibition 2023—Winter Edition”, By CEMS-Global USA and CCPIT-TEX Ends On A High Note

The “19th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2023- Winter Edition” along with “5th Dhaka International Denim Show 2023 successfully came to an end on 4th March 2023. The event was organized by “CEMS Global USA in collaboration with CCPIT-Sub Council of the Textile Industry (CCPIT-TEX). This event was a four-day event held from March 1-4 2023 at the International Convention City Basundhara (ICCB), Basundhara, Dhaka.

CCPIT-TEX was established in the year 1988 under the leadership of China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC). The mission of the organisation is to promote communication and business cooperation between the Chinese textile and the apparel industry and international industry counterparts and business community. CCPIT TEX has managed to gain worldwide recognition for its professionalism and excellent networking in the industry. The event marked its 5th anniversary of joint endeavors between CEMS-Global and CCPIT-TEX. The main agenda was to promote Textile in Bangladesh. This would prove to be very useful for the growth of RMG exports from Bangladesh. 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Honorable Minister of Textiles and Jute Ministry, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Prolik, MP. The chief guest of the ceremony was Mr. Song Yang, Commercial Consulate, The Embassy of The People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh. Other special guests included , Mr. Faruque Hasssan, President of BGMEA, Mohammad Hatem, Executive President of BKMEA, Sunil Patwari, Chairman of the Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) and Zhang Tap, Vice-Chairman of the sub council of China Textile Industry (CCPIT-TEX).. The event was presided over by Ms. Meherun N. Islam.

At the inauguration ceremony the chief guest, Honorable Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Bir Protik, MP, said, that “The current government is working tirelessly for rapid expansion in the fields of commerce and industry under the competent leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.” New industrial zones are being planned. The current administration is continuing to work hard to expand the garment industry as one of the main economic sectors in order to achieve its goal of having a developed economy by 2040. “CEMS Global,” I believe, will attract both domestic and foreign direct investment, accelerate industrialization, broaden product diversity, increase export revenues, and, most importantly, provide opportunities to earn foreign currency.

Meherun N. Islam, President and Managing Director of CEMS Global, said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2022, we were able to successfully organize other important exhibitions, including the “Textech Bangladesh International Expo,” and received a great response from businessmen and entrepreneurs from the Textile & RMG sector of the country. In that context, we will hold the first exhibitions of the year 2023 – the “19th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2023 – Winter Edition” and the “5th Dhaka International Denim Show 2023”.

Mr. Song Yang, Commercial Consulate, The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh stated that , “Bangladesh and China have a strong basis and greater possibility for collaboration in the textile and garment sectors. We wished the two industries could work together more, exchange ideas more frequently, and consider more expansive commercial opportunities”

Mr. Faruque Hassan, President of BGMEA,believed that , “In order to strengthen Bangladesh’s economy and quicken trade contacts, this kind of expo would help enhance businessmen, buyers, and entrepreneurs’ corporation.” Also, it will support the creation of new domestic and global marketplaces for commerce”.

Mr. Mohammad Hatem, Executive President of BKMEA, stated that, such exhibitions would promote Bangladesh to the outside world as a new business-friendly nation and foster more industry and trade collaboration.

Shri Sunil Patwari, Chairman, The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL) noted that, “Each year, the value of B2B trade events and exhibits increases. Through direct interaction with Bangladeshi buyers at this event, Indian delegates will be able to learn about the market and current purchasing patterns. It is an honor for TEXPROCIL to take part in this exhibition. TEXPROCIL conducts market research and analysis and keeps exporters informed about market trends, commercial opportunities, etc.

Mr. Zhang Tao, Vice Chairman, The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT-TEX noted that , “The congregation of premier yarn and fabric producers will turn it into a one-stop B2B networking location for Bangladesh’s ready-made clothing industry. In order to serve the needs of the RMG industry, it will be a key platform for fabric and equipment manufacturers to display their cutting-edge goods and innovations.”

The “19th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2023—Winter Edition” along with the `5th Dhaka Denim Show 2023’ are Bangladesh’s one of the largest and oldest yarn, fabric & denim, trims, accessories exhibition. It is one of the largest gatherings of manufacturers, buyers, and suppliers of yarn, fabric, denim and accessories in Bangladesh.

There were more than 350 companies from 12 countries who came as representatives in the exhibition with more than 500 booths. The exhibition was a one-stop platform that showcased new designs, latest trends and cutting-edge technologies which has been made available in the textile and RMG industry. The visitors would be appraised for their latest technologies available to enable Bangladesh to further in the highly competitive Apparel sourcing world market.
