Coats Stepping Toward a Sustainable Future

Coats, the world’s leading thread manufacturer, has recently launched EcoRegen, which is a biodegradable thread that will support the customer’s sustainability agendas. EcoRegen is made from 100% lyocell, which is a renewable fiber obtained from wood pulp that is sustainably sourced from forests.

90 percent of total water consumption at Coats, is used in dyeing, which is also one of the most vital parts of the thread manufacturing process. Coats also continue to invest in new machinery which has a low liquor ratio and also it is modifying the processes in its existing machines for making it more water-efficient. It is also looking for innovative measures for waterless dyeing technology.
