Tropic Knits, one of the largest vertically-integrated manufacturers of quality jersey garments in the Indian Ocean, is displaying all kinds of circular knits products in all 3 categories—men’s, women’s and kids—offering one stop solution for brands and retailers across the globe, at F2F Sourcing Show 2020, the virtual fair being organised by Fibre2Fashion.

At the fair, the Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu-based company is mainly focusing on three areas—digitalisation, sustainability, and being a truly global vendor.

“Digitalisation means offering digital solution to brands and retailers; solution that is true to life and technically correct, thereby reducing travel, increasing remote management, bringing agility and faster response with lower cost,” Ankit Trivedi, vice president, Tropic Knits Group, said.

On the second focus area, i.e. sustainability, Trivedi said, “It is growing in importance and also becoming ‘New Normal’. A considerable amount of investment has been made both in the product and process development at Tropic Knits to lead the way.”

Explaining the third focus point, he said, “Globalisation of brands and retailers is a reality, and hence these companies would need a vendor who is truly global. Ciel Textile, the parent of Tropic Knits, with its footprints in 4 countries (21 factories) is ‘a perfect fit’ for brands as a ‘one stop shop’ for their knits, woven, and knitwear requirements.”

With focus on Europe, the UK and the US, the company is targeting ‘Upmarket – Up product’ positioning to attract retailers for whom “product, service, speed and sustainability is more important,” said the company which has manufacturing locations in Mauritius, Madagascar and India.

Tropic Knits is launching sustainable product range at the F2F Sourcing Show, and Trivedi is confident that its product offerings and services, including “design to pricepoint” solution, is going to make the company a preferable partner for global brands.

When asked about expectation from the fair, Trivedi said, “This is going to be our first experience at a virtual event. So, we are excited and expecting a good response from global brands and retailers.”

“Given the current pandemic situation, we strongly feel that there is a definite change in the way the world functions. Right from eating habits, travelling to shopping—a whole new world is emerging. The whole perspective of business is changing 360and there is a strong feeling that even the pandemic is over, the changed habits will be the ‘New Normal’ for the world. Shift in demand and shift in buying pattern will continue for long,” Trivedi said.
