The CORDURA® Brand and Dovetail Workwear were awarded the NAUMD Innovation Award

Dovetail Workwear, a Portland, Oregon-based company that specialises in women’s workwear apparel, and CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics are proud to share today’s announcement of the Ready Set Cargo Pant’s win of the 2023 Innovation Award in the fabric category from the Network Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors (NAUMD). Each year, the Innovation Awards honour organisations who excel in the Uniform, Image Apparel, Workwear, and Public Safety Equipment sectors.

The new Ready, Set Cargo Pant from Dovetail Workwear is the third product developed in collaboration with CORDURA® Advanced Fabrics and Sapphire Finishing Mills Ltd. It is a reimagined and fashionable multi-pocketed micro ripstop pant with intuitive functionality for tough jobs among emergency medical technicians (EMTs), tactical teams, transportation experts, outdoor adventurers and beyond. The trousers are sewed at the same facility where the fabric is milled, and 90% of the workers are female. Sapphire Finishing Mills Ltd. combines cutting-edge technology with age-old artistry, while also promoting women’s empowerment and taking a comprehensive approach to sustainability.

Durable CORDURA NYCO Fabric is engineered with a close blend of INVISTA T420 nylon 6,6 staple fibre and offers enhanced abrasion and tear resistance, ‘No Melt No Drip**’ performance, and 3-5x slower flame spread* than equivalent weight polyester/cotton. It was initially developed as a tough, lightweight comfort solution for military combat uniforms.
