Lenzing is teaming up with Södra, a pulp producer based in Växjö, Sweden, on the creation of OnceMore Pulp made from textile waste. This plan will involve the transferring of knowledge between the two companies.

For the production of Lenzing’s Tencel × Refibra branded specialty fibers, OnceMore Pulp will be used as a raw material. These two companies are expecting to turn an annual 25,000 tons of textile waste per year into a brand-new product by the year 2025.

OnceMore Pulp can combine wood cellulose with up to 50 percent of textile waste to form a high-quality dissolving pulp. This pulp will be used for the production of new clothing and also for other textile products.
