Beginning Monday, the City of Barrie will collect used clothing, linens, and shoes.
Residents can collect any unused textiles and pack them in plastic bags to leave by the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day from September 27 to October 4.
According to the city, the bags must be waterproof, and a clear bag is desirable but not required.
The city gathered 151,000 pounds of textiles last spring to keep them out of the garbage. Textile collection takes place twice a year, in the spring and fall.
