Ocean State Innovations (OSI), a manufacturer of textiles, has announced the purchase of Cranford, New Jersey-based Cloud9 Fabrics. The majority of the fabrics sold by Cloud9 Fabrics to the quilting industry are organic.
With more than 14 years of experience, Cloud9 also provides a variety of garment materials for DIY sewing. It manufactures its cotton base cloths exclusively from 100 percent certified organic cotton and employs low-impact eco-friendly dyes for printing and dying. According to Ed Odessa, president and chief executive officer of P&B Textiles, “the synergy between Cloud9 Fabrics and P&B Textiles will result in OSI becoming a much more important resource for the home sewer.” With the help of P&B Textiles and Cloud9 Fabrics, OSI will be able to provide several cotton substrates to the home sewing market.
a sister of Cloud9 line, Felicity Fabrics, which focuses on smaller designs and sturdy supporting elements that blend with all of the collections and is primarily targeted towards more traditional quilters looking for the Cloud9 designer flare.
