With so much attention on responsible fashion, labels all over the world are collaborating with researchers to create environmentally friendly materials and clothing. And now, a Pakistani denim tycoon has created a clothing that creates oxygen!
Azgard-9, situated in Pakistan, has revealed information about an item of clothing that not only creates oxygen but also has sustainable and antibacterial characteristics.

Azgrd-9 has produced a poncho that mimics the capacity of plants to photosynthesize and release oxygen into the atmosphere. According to reports, the denim behemoth collaborated with the London-based Post Carbon Lab, a design research firm specialising in sustainability. For the time being, the clothing is not for sale, and the label’s intention is to encourage other businesses to employ technology to become more environmentally friendly.

The move is part of the brand’s ‘Future Before Fashion’ campaign, which encourages future-focused solutions that have a low environmental effect and are completely sustainable.
According to a McKinsey study, the fashion sector was responsible for 2.1 billion metric tonnes of greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions in 2018—roughly 4% of the world total, so this is surely a positive step for the business.
