As you are aware, the entire world is facing a slew of challenges after weeks of lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, Textile and Apparel value chain has been significantly affected. Textile Industry is facing looming challenges as skilled workers and materials are difficult to find. The textiles and clothing sector has been grappling with profitability issues due to a sharp decline in import-exports activities; these issues only look to get aggravated further with the current crisis. Due to the current crisis millions of jobs in the textiles and clothing sector are at risk. Governments worldwide, including India, are putting in concerted efforts and taking several remedial measures to enable the Textiles and Clothing (T&C) Industry to tide over the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, revive it from the current recession on a fast track and grab the emerging global opportunities by enabling the industry attain global competitiveness.
