Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition wrapped up successfully on 13 March at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), fueled by robust demand. The event hosted over 370 exhibitors and welcomed more than 25,000 visitors from 85 countries and regions. Total visitor numbers increased by 8%, with international visitors more than doubling compared to the previous Spring Edition. As consumer preferences evolve, buyers are increasingly seeking home products that blend style, comfort, and sustainability. Hall 5.2 reflected this trend, showcasing an extensive mix of exhibitors and a fringe programme centered on eco-innovation and smart sleep, reinforcing the fair’s importance in driving industry advancements.

Industry Growth and Market Insights
On the final day, Ms. Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented:
“The strong visitor flow throughout the hall demonstrated the ongoing demand and recovery within China’s home textile market, with exhibitors reporting high-quality leads. Notably, the significant increase in international visitors highlights the event’s growing global appeal. Sustainability and smart bedding solutions emerged as key trends, as more exhibitors integrate technology and eco-friendly practices into their materials and production processes. The diverse product offerings successfully catered to a wide spectrum of buyer interests.”

Eco-Consciousness and Innovation at the Forefront
Sustainability is no longer just a preference but a necessity in the home textiles market. The bedding sector, in particular, is witnessing a growing emphasis on organic, reusable, and recyclable materials free from hazardous chemicals. Throughout the three-day event, exhibitors showcased products that balanced comfort with environmental responsibility.

Smart bedding solutions with temperature regulation and antibacterial technologies, along with sustainable home textiles crafted from biodegradable and organic materials, were key highlights. Notably, CoolisT Life Technology Co Ltd presented its bio-based biodegradable sponges, including Zero Foam and Hydrophilic Foam. Prominent global buyers such as Sainsbury’s, Americana International, and Li & Fung actively explored technological innovations, sustainable solutions, and premium home textile products to meet evolving consumer demands.
