India’s MICE Sector Showcased at Mega Events: Union Minister Piyush Goyal

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian government is actively promoting India as a premier global destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE). Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, highlighted this strategic initiative aimed at showcasing India’s vast MSME sector, traditional handicrafts, artisanal offerings, weavers, and manufacturing prowess. Emphasizing India’s monumental revolution in global engagement, Goyal outlined a series of upcoming mega events that will elevate India’s position as a global economic powerhouse.

The first event on the list is the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Utsav,’ scheduled from January 3rd to 10th, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. This expo aims to provide a direct interface between producers and consumers by exhibiting products from artisans, weavers, khadi, tribal crafts, MSMEs, and cottage industries.

Next up is the ‘Indus Food’ exhibition, which will be held from January 8th to 10th, 2024, at India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida. More than 1,100 exhibitors from nearly 120 countries are expected to participate, attracting around 2,500 overseas buyers. The focus of this exhibition is to promote value-added agricultural products, thereby enhancing farmers’ income and generating employment opportunities in the food processing sector.

From February 1st to 3rd, 2024, the spotlight will be on the ‘Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024’ at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Covering an expansive 10 lakh square feet, this mobility exposition will showcase the strengths and innovations of stakeholders in the automobile and mobility sector. The expo will highlight next-generation eco-friendly products, construction equipment, and various innovative mobility solutions.

The grand finale will be the ‘Bharat Tex’ exhibition, scheduled from February 26th to 29th, 2024, at both Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. Spanning nearly 20 lakh square feet, this colossal event will be one of the largest textile exhibitions globally. With over 3,500 exhibitors, 3,000 overseas buyers, and participants from more than 40 countries, Bharat Tex aims to showcase India’s textile prowess and innovation to a global audience, encompassing the entire textile value chain from farm to fashion.

These mega-events, bolstered by India’s global outreach strategy, demonstrate the country’s intention to foster greater business and market engagement worldwide. With these initiatives, India aims to solidify its position as a thriving global economic powerhouse, showcasing its rich heritage, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovation to the world.
