Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is scheduled to embark on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, commencing on October 24, to enhance trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The official statement released on Monday highlights Minister Goyal’s intention to engage with senior leaders and businesses in Riyadh.
During his stay, he will participate in the seventh edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, where he is expected to co-chair a conclave session on the theme “From Risk to Opportunity: Strategies for Emerging Economies in the New Industrial Policy Era,” alongside the Saudi Arabian Investment Minister.
Minister Goyal’s agenda also involves meetings with esteemed Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dignitaries, such as Energy Minister Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salman Al-Saud, Commerce Minister Majid bin Abdullah AlKassabi, and Investment Minister Khalid A. Al Falih.
Additionally, he will have the opportunity to engage with leaders from the business community and prominent CEOs from across the world. The FII Institute, a global non-profit foundation, aims to bring together influential government and business leaders to explore innovative investment strategies in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Education, Healthcare, and Sustainability.
Notably, this edition of the FII event is expected to witness the participation of renowned investors, influential business leaders, and policymakers globally.
The statement highlights the remarkable growth in trade between the two countries, which reached an all-time high of $52.75 billion in 2022-23.
