The 76th National Garment Fair is announced by CMAI.

Mumbai Date 23.01.2023 CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India) announced the holding of its 76th National Garment Fair (NGF) on the 30th, 31st January and 1st February at the NESCO Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai.
With more than 950 Stalls and over 1,000 Brands on display, this is the largest Summer Fair in the history of Domestic Garment Industry.
The Fair will be inaugurated by Sh. Chandrakant Dada Patil, Minister of Industries and Textiles, Government of Maharashtra.
“The Maharashtra Government is very keen to support the revival of the Garment Industry in Maharashtra, which at one time was the premier region for India’s Garment Industry. CMAI is interacting with the Maharashtra Government to introduce measures which will give a boost the Garment Industry in the State, and hence the invitation to the Hon Minister, who will also be having an interactive meeting with some of the leading Manufacturers at the National Garment Fair to discuss the issues facing the Industry and ways to strengthen the manufacturing base in Maharashtra”, said Rajesh Masand, President, CMAI.
The Fair is also expected to give a fillip to the Domestic Garment Sector, which, despite of a strong revival post Covid in the year 2022, is showing some sluggishness after November 2022.
As per the CMAI Apparel Consumption Study done along with Research Firm A.C. Nielson in 2019, the Domestic Garment Industry was estimated to be around US$ 80 Billion in 2019. As per surveys conducted by CMAI during the Covid years, the Apparel  Consumption had dropped by approximately 22% during 2020-22 to app. US $ 65 Billion. “Most Brands and Manufacturers are seeing a growth of around 16% in 2022-23 over the pre-pandemic sales, but this has slowed down to just above par levels during the last 2 to 3 months” opined Rohit Munjal, Chairman, Fair Committee of CMAI.
The inauguration of the 76th NGF by Sh. Chandrakant Dada Patil will be on 30th January and will be followed by an interaction of the Hon. Minister with the Managing Committee of CMAI and leading Brands of the Industry.
