On the concluding day of the 3rd GTC, Smt. Darshana Vikram Jardosh Ji, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, was Guest of Honour in the Valedictory Session. In her Special Address, she said that the event was held at an opportune time when India is presiding over G20 and there is an underlying opportunity for India to contribute towards matters of global importance, with Textiles being one of those.
Speaking at the event, the Minister also emphasized the need for businesses to constantly innovate their business models and supply chains by adopting new technologies to meet the emerging needs of many of its important markets. The minister congratulated CITI for organizing such a wonderful event and hoped that CITI would continue its good work toward promoting sustainability in India.
Shri T. Rajkumar, Chairman CITI, thanked everyone for attending the event and appreciated the efforts of the Indian government in supporting the Textile Industry. He also congratulated all the winners of the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards for their outstanding performance and urged the Indian Textile Industry to adopt sustainable practices in the long run.
Ms. Chandrima Chatterjee, Secretary General, CITI, opens a curtain raiser for the upcoming 4th GTC. She said that the next edition of our annual event will be organised, along with Spinners Association Gujarat and other regional textile associations at Ahmedabad in the second week of February 2024. Mr Ripple Patel, President SAG has confirmed that all the major textile association of Gujarat like Assocham (Gujarat chapter) and SGCI will join to make this the mega textile event of 2024. SAG is talking to various textile associations of Surat, Jetpur, Ahmedabad and others and will share a formal invite shortly.
