Brandix India Apparel City Pvt Ltd (BIAC), one of the largest apparel and textile manufacturing parks in Asia, has been honoured with the prestigious Greentech Environment Award 2023 in the Environmental Excellence Category by the Greentech Foundation. This accolade highlights BIAC’s steadfast dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable business practices.

BIAC was honoured with an award at the Greentech Foundation’s Environment Summit in Sonmarg, Jammu and Kashmir. This prestigious ceremony hosted notable individuals such as Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Dr Shantanu Kumar Dutta, Member Secretary, Pollution Control Board, Assam and Dr Arup Kumar Misra, Chairman of Pollution Control Board, Assam. BIAC’s commitment to environmental sustainability revolves around three key pillars: Air, Water, and Earth. The park sustainably meets 50% of its annual water consumption through rainwater harvesting ponds. Furthermore, BIAC has taken a pioneering step in the region by being the first industry within the state to implement a Solar Sludge Drying Process unit. This innovative addition has transformed BIAC into a fully sustainable apparel park, eliminating the need for any landfills and embracing a zero-waste approach. Furthermore, the park aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030 through investing in clean energy, optimizing energy consumption, and creating carbon sinks in the form of plantations.

Mr. Neil Rosayro, Country Head of Brandix India, expressed his delight at receiving the award, emphasizing its significance as a testament to BIAC’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practices. He noted that the recognition not only inspires BIAC but also reinforces its determination to push the boundaries for a greener and more sustainable future.
