3 people killed in a Textile Mill where fire burnt out: Gurjarat

Three people were killed on Thursday when a fire broke out at a textile dyeing and printing mill at Palsena near Bardoli town in Gujarat’s Surat district. An official gave this information. Chief Officer of Bardoli Fire Service P.B. Gadhvi said that ten workers were safely evacuated from this three-story building, while the burnt bodies of three persons were found on its first floor. Gadhvi said the fire broke out around 3.30 am and was brought under control after 12 hours. He said that the people who died were engaged in the work of making office furniture by the mill owner.image.png

‘Fire spread rapidly, laborers caught in flames said, ‘After completing his work, he slept on the first floor of the mill. When the fire spread rapidly, they were trapped…After extinguishing the flames in the afternoon, we found the burnt bodies. The whole building was destroyed. He said that since it is a huge fire, 100 fire brigade personnel from Bardoli, Surat, Sachin, Vyara, Gandhi, Navsari, Bilimora, and two private companies and about 15 fire tenders were deployed to control it.

Gadhvi said, “The local people claimed that the gas cylinder exploded after a short circuit and then the mill caught fire. The fire spread rapidly due to highly flammable chemicals, dyes, and threads. A large number of ready-made clothes and raw materials were burnt to ashes in the fire. He said that the operation to douse the fire is still on.
