Due to weak demand, cotton yarn prices in the Ludhiana market have decreased by 1-2 rupees per kilogramme, whilst prices in the Delhi market have stayed constant. According to trade sources, viscose and polyester are replacing cotton in the textile and apparel industries because they are less expensive.

The Panipat market has observed stability in yarn pricing in the interim, although comber and other raw materials are still in short supply. Despite a minor increase in export sales, US customers are still placing few orders, and the market remains competitive.

The Ludhiana market’s cotton yarn prices declined as a result of sluggish demand from downstream sectors and a switch to polyester. yarn. “Export demand for cotton yarn has not increased over the entire season as Indian exporters are unable to get orders due to more expensive cotton. Because fabric and apparel manufacturers are switching to polyester and PC-based raw materials, demand from the downstream industry has further decreased. Buyers were not happy with the cost of raw materials, according to traders. It is unlikely that the export demand for clothing and apparel would increase anytime soon. According to TexPro, 30 count combed yarn was sold for between 280 and 285 per kg (including GST), 40 count combed for between 305 and 310 per kg, and 30 count carded for between 255 and 260 per kg. 40 count cards were priced at 285-290 per kg, and kg.

Spinner demand remained weak as downstream companies switched to less expensive fibres like viscose and polyester. In north India, cotton arrival decreased from 7,000 170 kilogramme bales to 6,000 bales. In Punjab, Haryana, and upper Rajasthan, cotton traded at $6,230–6,330 per maund, $6,250–6,350 per maund, and $6,450–6,550 per maund, respectively.
