By 2024, Mango will sell regenerative cotton products.

The Spanish fashion conglomerate has teamed up with Materra, a British-Indian business that specialises in regenerative cotton farming and supply solutions, in an effort to achieve this goal. Regenerative agriculture’s fibres are thought to play a key role in increasing the sustainability of the fashion industry since they have a good impact on biodiversity and the land.

Additionally, the textile industry will be able to guarantee total traceability of its cotton from seed to finished garment along the entire value chain. Indian farmers will use Materra’s Co:Farm platform to collect crop and soil data, which will help track metrics like water consumption and soil health.

“As a worldwide fashion brand, our goal is very clear: to lessen the negative environmental effects of the fashion industry while also helping to build a more equitable society. In order to ensure that all of the fibres we use are sustainable by 2030, we have allied ourselves with important partners like Materra,” said Andrés Fernández, director of sustainability.

This programme is a component of the fashion brand’s “Sustainable Vision 2030” sustainability plan. This plan includes initiatives like the denim collection that was introduced earlier this year and the partnership with Pyratex that was revealed on World Oceans Day, both of which adhere to circularity principles.
