Mumbai, September 03, 2024—Two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) have been inked by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), the nation’s preeminent organization representing the apparel sector, with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC) and the Garment Exporters Association of Rajasthan (GEAR). The agreements, which were inked yesterday in Mumbai, are intended to use mutual strengths and increase prospects in both domestic and international markets to catapult Rajasthani and Uttar Pradeshi garment producers to new heights.
Mutual promotion and support of trade interests, cooperative program facilitation, improved information sharing, and trade fair participation are the main goals of these MOUs. The partnerships will also concentrate on united industry representation before the federal and state governments, representing the interests of the local clothing producers.
Speaking on the MOU with NAEC, Rajesh Masand, President of CMAI, said, “UP garment manufacturers, particularly those from the Noida cluster, will have access to CMAI’s wide network of buyers and retailers throughout India thanks to this resolute cooperation.” Additionally, it will support CMAI’s initiatives to interact with the UP-apparel industry and expand our offerings to regional producers.
Echoing this sentiment, Lalit Thukral, President of NAEC, remarked, “A major step forward for the growth of UP’s garment industry is aligning with CMAI, India’s largest association for the garment industry.” The benefits of this partnership to our exporting members are substantial.
GEAR and CMAI extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) earlier in the day, strengthening their collaboration, which has already benefited Rajasthani clothing exporters greatly. “Our previous association with CMAI has provided tremendous benefits to our members in Rajasthan,” said Zakir Hussain, President of GEAR. By broadening our reach and gaining access to more trade shows, information forums, and other industry-driven events, we look forward to fortifying this relationship.
Also present on the occasion, Rohit Munjal, Vice President of CMAI, expressed optimism about the growing demand for Rajasthan-made ensembles, stating, “This renewed collaboration will provide more opportunities for manufacturers from Rajasthan to showcase their unique products and design sensibilities, boosting their presence in the domestic retail market.”
These strategic alliances with NAEC and GEAR underscore CMAI’s commitment to supporting garment manufacturers across India, helping them navigate new frontiers and achieve sustained growth in a competitive market landscape.
