Clothing Tops Household Spend In FY22; Alchohol, Footwear Follows

According to a report by the Statistics Ministry, spending on apparel had the highest growth rate among the numerous categories included in the Private Final Consumption Expenditure (PFCE) in FY22, followed by alcohol and footwear. However, the increase in food costs was only a few percentage points.

The final consumption expenditure of households and NPISH (non-profit institutions serving homes), including temples and gurdwaras, is included in PFCE.
