The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has suggested a two-pronged strategy to hike merchandise exports, steered by 31products with high potential in export markets, including women’s apparel, drugs, etc.
CII has suggested expanding domestic production and undertaking targeted promotion in top importing nations to build exports in these items. “The identification of the products comes in the light of moderating export growth in Q1 of 2019-20 as a result of global trade developments,” CII said in a discussion paper Indian Exports: The Next Trajectory – Mapping Products and Destinations.
