The World Water Assessment Programme

The World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP), founded in 2000, is the flagship programme of UN-Water. Housed in UNESCO, WWAP monitors freshwater issues in order to provide recommendations, develop case studies, enhance assessment capacity at a national level and inform the decision-making process.

In 2017, WWAP launched a major new report with key findings and recommendations. It’s proving to be an essential tool for governments and stakeholders to promote how political decisions on water can sustainable social and economic development at local, national, regional and global scales.
