The Crucial Role of MSMEs in Driving Uttar Pradesh’s Growth

The Confederation of Indian Industry, Uttar Pradesh recently hosted the CII UP MSME Conference at the Gyan Conference Hall of CII Lucknow, shedding light on the vital role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in propelling Uttar Pradesh towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy.

Secretary (MSME & Export Promotion) Pranjal Yadav, the chief guest, emphasised the state government’s dedication to attracting investments and providing incentives to the MSME and SME sectors. He underscored the significance of MSMEs as major employment generators and key contributors to the nation’s export growth.

Yadav elaborated on the various schemes and incentives offered by the UP government to bolster the MSME and SME segments. He highlighted the success of initiatives like the One District One Product scheme in empowering handicraft artisans and enhancing their innovative capabilities.

CII MSME Panel convenor Yawer Ali Shah praised the transformative impact of the ODOP scheme on the state’s MSME sector, noting its role in boosting exports and showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s artisanal prowess on a global scale. He advocated for the integration of incubation centres to support entrepreneurs in adapting to evolving technologies and business trends, including artificial intelligence.

Smita Agarwal, Chairperson of CII UP State Council, lauded MSMEs as the backbone of the state’s economy, driving innovation, employment, and economic progress. She commended the state government’s initiatives such as single-window clearances and infrastructure development tailored to MSMEs’ specific requirements.

Rajata Mehra, Convener of the CII Policy Advocacy Panel, stressed the importance of MSMEs evolving in response to the dynamic business landscape to stay updated on industry practices and trends. As challenges persist, MSMEs have showcased resilience and adaptability, epitomising their unwavering spirit in navigating the modern business environment.

In conclusion, the CII UP MSME Conference highlighted the critical role of MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory and underscored the need for continuous innovation and adaptation to thrive in today’s competitive business environment.
