The state government of Gujarat has announced plans to establish the PM MITRA Park at Vansi Borsi in Navsari district, which is expected to generate over 3 lakh new job opportunities. Designed to integrate the entire textile value chain, from spinning and weaving to dyeing, printing, and garment manufacturing, the park aims to provide a consolidated hub for the industry.

In a recent statement, the government revealed that an MoU has been signed with the Union government to set up the park, which will cover an expansive area of 462.75 hectares. Strategically located just 55 kilometers from Surat, the park will offer convenient access to Surat Airport and the nearby Hazira Port, as well as connectivity to major cities like Mumbai and Delhi through the proposed DFC.

The PM MITRA Park is envisioned as a “plug-and-play” infrastructure facility, demonstrating modern technology and incorporating provisions for training and research. The park’s development will occur in two phases, with the first phase focusing on ginning, spinning, garments, technical textiles, and weaving units.

This ambitious initiative by the Gujarat government aims to strengthen the Indian textile industry, create employment opportunities, and enhance the country’s position as a global textile hub. The PM MITRA Park is expected to attract significant investment and catalyze further growth in the sector.

Overall, this project highlights the government’s commitment to fostering economic development, encouraging innovation, and facilitating job creation in the textile sector.
