The Park has been promoted by a group of local textile industry entrepreneurs through an SPV namely Madurai Integrated Textile Park Ltd, under the Scheme for Integrated Textiles Parks, Ministry of Textiles, G.O.I. The park is an integrated park to support weaving, garmenting, and home textiles.
The project was approved in March 2007. This is one of the six Parks in Tamil Nadu under SITP. The park is developed over an area of 106 acres. The park is located at Vadipatti, 30 km from Madurai on Madurai-Dindigul highway.
