Lindström, the leading rental workwear service company in India, is making waves with its PAN India operations and a strong workforce of over 900 employees. Currently, the company caters to the workwear needs of more than 750,000 individuals each day, serving over 2,000 customers in various industry segments. Jayant Roy, the Managing Director of Lindström India, recently discussed the company’s progress and future plans.

In terms of workwear trends, unlike countries facing workforce shortages, India has traditionally relied on in-house capabilities. However, Lindström’s entry into the Indian market has disrupted this norm, providing end-to-end workwear solutions and enabling companies to focus on their core business activities.

Lindström has also introduced several innovative measures in the realm of technical textiles. One notable addition is the eLindström service portal, offering customers greater control over their orders and increased transparency in tracking workwear locations. Each garment is equipped with a remote tracking tag, allowing for easy monitoring of usage and wash cycles.

Sustainability is a key focus for Lindström. The company has set ambitious targets, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative, aiming to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Lindström’s strategy includes increasing the use of recycled and bio-based materials, encouraging suppliers to set emission reduction targets, and implementing better IT capabilities for planning and optimization.

Lindström’s commitment to the circular economy is integral to its business model. The company prioritizes reducing textile overproduction, repairing garments to extend their lifespan, and optimizing water, energy, and detergent usage in its laundries. Notably, Lindström has achieved a 50% reduction in water and energy usage per textile kilo between 1990 and 2020.

Looking to the future, Lindström plans to continue expanding its operations throughout India. With a unique business concept that caters to companies of all sizes and industry segments, the company is confident in its potential for long-term growth.

In summary, Lindström’s innovative workwear solutions, commitment to sustainability, and plans for expansion position it as a trailblazer in the Indian market and a global player in the rental workwear industry.
