Background

Among the main crafts, kani occupies an important place. The kani shawl has a very rich heritage and continues to be a significant craft in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this a major chunk of artisans are involved in making woollen products like blanket, raffle and pashmina shawl.
