The government has announced an extension for inviting fresh applications under the performance-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles.
This extension comes after requests from industry stakeholders and aims to provide more time for interested parties to participate in the scheme. The deadline for submission of applications has been extended until December 31.
The PLI scheme for textiles specifically targets the man-made fibre apparel, fabrics, and products of the technical textiles sector. It is part of the government’s efforts to boost domestic manufacturing and enhance India’s position in the global textile market.
The Ministry of Textiles had initially reopened the PLI scheme portal in July, with a deadline of August 31 for applications. However, considering the industry’s demand for more time, the ministry has now extended the deadline to the end of the year.
This announcement comes as a positive move for the textile industry, providing an opportunity for interested stakeholders to avail the benefits of the PLI scheme and contribute to the growth of the sector.
