Biosorbe has recently purchased a new factory in Kristinehamn previously owned by Renewcell, known for recycling textile waste to create new fibers. Biosorbe, which produces oil-absorption materials, found the factory suitable for its needs. Looking to expand production, Biosorbe saw the acquisition as a sustainable way to reach their goal. The Kristinehamn premises offer a large industrial property, process premises, stock management, conference rooms, and changing rooms. Production is expected to begin in May, marking a new chapter for Biosorbe. This move not only allows for growth but also aligns with the company’s eco-friendly values.

Biosorbe is in the process of moving into a new factory in Kristinehamn and preparing for production. The move will also signal the relocation of Biosorbe’s headquarters from Karlstad to Kristinehamn. CEO Kajsa Fougner highlighted the company’s growth and development on various levels. Biosorbe’s future is promising, with expansion into new markets and collaborations with both old and new customers. The company is also working on developing new environmentally friendly products using its unique material. The new factory in Kristinehamn will allow for improved packaging of Biosorbe products, making it easier to ship internationally.

Biosorbe started at KTH in Stockholm, focusing on polymer technology, and has since expanded to Sunne and Kristinehamn. Kajsa Fougner recently became CEO, bringing experience from the pulp and paper industry and working with companies like Renewcell. The company plans to increase production, hire more operators, and eventually move to two-shift and three-shift work. While their main product is absorbent, Biosorbe’s goal is to introduce new products and solutions in the market soon.
