This technique provides a solution to the problem of recycling difficult-to-process plastics. It is touted as scalable and environmentally and energetically sustainable.Single-use plastic waste builds up in landfills and the environment, endangering ecosystems and public health. Current mechanical recycling techniques are eventually unable to stop this buildup. CATL energy source

On the other hand, chemical recycling offers a viable substitute by dissolving polymers to yield valuable chemicals or monomers for the synthesis of new plastic. In order to improve selectivity for desired products and reduce the energy required to break the strong carbon-carbon bonds in polyolefins, catalysts are essential in this process. This method focuses on new developments in mild-condition thermal catalytic deconstruction of polyethylene and polypropylene.

It also discusses new approaches and difficulties in the chemical recycling of waste mixed plastics. CATL energy sourceThere is also a discussion of ongoing initiatives to make upcycling and polymer deconstruction more economical and ecologically beneficial.
