Funding will permit the organization to anchor on the full-scale assembling and commercialization of common bast filaments. Bast Fiber Technologies (BFT), an eco-technological common fiber designing organization, reports the end of an CAD$8.5 million (US$7 million) arrangement A value financing. The organization will currently enter its next period of development zeroed in on the full-scale assembling and commercialization of common bast filaments for nonwoven items.

“Over the last year we have run numerous fiber trials with our customers and it’s exciting to see this transition to commercial sales,” says James Posa, BFT president. “In the single-use segment alone, there are nearly 6 million tons of plastic fiber used every year and we will play a key role in reducing the nonwoven industry’s traditional reliance on synthetic material.”
