Industrial LED UV curing expert Kevin Joesel to present “UV-LED for Adhesives: The good, the bad and the future!” on Tuesday, June 20

LOUIS, Missouri — June  13, 2023 —Baldwin Technology Co., North America’s largest manufacturer of UV and LED curing technology, will showcase its latest lineup of AMS Spectral UV brand industrial curing solutions at the 2023 Adhesives & Bonding Expo. Baldwin will be located in booth 711 to discuss solutions engineered to deliver the highest speeds, power, dose and scalability for LED curing of inks, coatings and adhesives.

Taking place June 20 through 22 in Novi, Michigan, the Adhesives & Bonding Expo is the largest free trade fair and conference for industrial bonding products and manufacturing. Baldwin provides top-shelf curing solutions to many industrial markets, including auto parts, wood/furniture, cans, EV battery, medical consumables, metal coatings and converting.

Solutions on display at Baldwin’s booth will include the patented XP Quatro Series™, AMS Spectral UV’s latest evolution for high-speed, high-performance LED UV curing. Hosting two large LED UV arrays, the Quatro Series delivers double the available power of a standard LED solution at a lower cost than two individual lamps while operating at top industrial speeds, driving increased productivity and profitability.

Unique to the XP Quatro Series is its ability to emit two different wavelengths from the same head, so with deep, layered substrates, for instance, the longer wavelengths can penetrate further, and in applications that require simultaneous powerful surface curing, the shorter waves can achieve this at the same time. Additionally, in applications with dual chemistry on one substrate both can be perfectly cured simultaneously

On Tuesday, June 20, Kevin Joesel, Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV Industrial Sales Executive for the Americas, will be presenting an eye-opening session on how Baldwin’s technology has revolutionized what’s needed for LED UV curing on both web and 3D objects through the use of “side-fire LEDs.” Joesel’s career spans 35 years in the industry and has been focused the last 20 years on industrial curing with UV, LED UV and microwave technology.

“AMS Spectral UV’s peak optics, or as I prefer to call it ‘side fire LEDs’ for the XP series of lamps decreases the rate of the loss of irradiance by more than an order of magnitude. The most recent product family, Quatro, takes this a stop further,” said Joesel. “At the Solutions Innovation Stage during the Adhesives & Bonding Expo, I’ll be discussing how Baldwin’s AMS Spectral UV has eliminated the idea that UV LEDs need to be within millimeters of the target to cure an adhesive, sealant or conformal coating.”

Manufactured in the U.S. and built using quality materials and the world’s most powerful LED architecture, the XP Quatro Series is designed to withstand nonstop use in tough conditions and high-productivity environments that require a rugged, resilient curing module.

AMS Spectral UV pioneered an all-LED curing solution for high-performance printing and converting and is a world leader in the market, with an installed base of more LED systems on offset litho and flexo presses globally than any other provider of the technology. It has quickly risen to prominence among the world’s leading industrial curing equipment manufacturers, with applications ranging from electronics and medical devices to EV automotive and consumer goods.

From research and development through engineering and production, AMS Spectral UV’s team of experts can customize solutions to suit every application.  Its comprehensive products and services include conventional UV, LED UV, UV lamps, Infrared, test-lab facilities and application engineering services.
