After its official launch at the Schneider Group HQ in Verrone, Authentico® by Schneider Group is ready to begin its journey into the market starting from Pitti Filati.

Authentico® by Schneider Group is a brand that stands for a complete, transparent, verified, traceable, ethical and high-quality wool supply chain – from farm to garment. It aims to be recognised as the global brand that enables the fashion industry, together with end-consumers, to choose new levels of premium quality comprising fully traceable and responsible wool, in compliance with a carefully structured approach that verifies, traces and brands the sourcing and manufacturing processes throughout the whole supply chain. Authentico® is based on the Schneider Group global certified network.

To achieve these goals the Schneider Group has created the Authentico® Verification System, a simple and reliable way to provide criteria and guidelines for all Authentico® supply chain partners including:
  • Authentico® Integrity Scheme, best practices for growers’ implementation at farm level. Animal welfare is at the heart of the Authentico® Integrity scheme, together with being mulesing-free, in accordance with The Five Domains. But the scheme goes further and encompasses also land and pasture management and social responsibility. The wool is sourced from carefully selected and highly committed growers, who apply best practices and choose to subscribe to the dedicated Authentico® platform. The selected fibres are processed into tops in the Schneider Group’s own mills located on several continents, which are directly operated and fully certified.
  • Authentico® Brand Guidelines, for all other supply chain players (from spinners, weavers and knitters to garment makers, brands and retailers), that include precise criteria set by the Schneider Group to ensure alignment with Authentico® brand values.
In addition, the Schneider Group incorporates the pioneering traceability platform TextileGenesis™ within its Authentico® Verification System, to digitally track all incoming and outgoing wool.
There are three Authentico® by Schneider Group production sites in the world: Pettinatura Verrone is the Italian mill, located at the Schneider Group headquarter, then Fuhrmann in Argentina and Mediterranean Wool Industries in Egypt.

The Authentico® Brand Manager Debora Tricarico adds: “The Schneider Group strategic decision to appoint an Authentico® Brand Manager coming from a luxury conglomerate was strictly connected to the need of coordinating the wide and complex ecosystem surrounding a sustainable wool business, which is necessary to satisfy brands and retailers seeking to rely on ethical, traceable and high-quality wool. The uniqueness of a brand like Authentico® is based on the Schneider Group worldwide network of wool procurement offices and certified combing mills, featuring the farm management and industrial processing souls of the company. Authentico® encompasses the Schneider Group century-old experience, passion and know-how in the wool industry as well as its values of sustainability, quality and performance.”

Founded in 1922, the Schneider Group is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying high-quality wool, cashmere, vicuna and other precious animal fibres. Today, it’s the most trusted source for responsibly and beautifully made animal fibre tops and the only fully vertically integrated supplier of animal fibres for tops on a global scale, having its own local sourcing and production sites in five continents.

Sustainability is part of the Group’s DNA and an absolute strategic priority. The Schneider Group global network mills are RWS and GOTS certified for wool and SFA certified for cashmere standards, and all factories that process Authentico® are implementing the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Program. The group sustainability strategy is based on actively measuring and reducing the impact on the environment through research and investment in very diverse fields from regenerative agriculture at pasture level to thermal and conditioning insulation or energy optimisation software at industrial level.

The group has developed a marketing & communication plan to support its Authentico® brand, so keep up with the newly launched website www.gschneider.com and the company social media to follow the upcoming events where Authentico® will be featured including the Natural Fiber Connect event and the Textile Exchange conference

Stay tuned: the next big news for Authentico® by Schneider Group will be unveiled in occasion of MilanoUnica with a great Authentico® partnership.
